There is a lot to be said for promotional products . Thy can make a profound difference to you life and I know what I am talking about….I have the proof.

A Jordans Racing Promotional Baseball Cap got me a girl….a really nice girl..and I swear it was the promotional material I was wearing that made it happen.
It was a few years ago now…if fact come to think about it, it was over a decade since that  night at the races. I remember it like…like….well, like it was over a decade ago but what I cant remember for the sake of the story I will fill in with poetic licence or failing that…any drivel that makes the story run true.

Now I have already mentioned that Jordans were the sponsors I was being entertained by. Jordans for the uninitiated are one of the Formula 1 Racing Teams owned by Irish Multi-millionaire Eddy Jordan. At the time, I was managing some pension funds for the team and so in due course had been invited with a few pals to Silverstone to the Friday practice session of the British Grand Prix.
I am no great racing fan, but you know it was going to be a great day out, corporate sponsorship, free food, booze and the enticing prospect of bumping into the Marlboro girls. What more could a young single chap want. ( Of course this was a time when smoking wasn’t so non PC. Taking out one of the promo girls was considered quite a coup in those days. Nowadays, if you are caught taking out a Marlboro in public, you get arrested and fined!!)

Back to the story…..so there we were, in the sponsors enclosure, promotional Koozies in hand, idly surveying the other guests for famous faces…or just good looking ones if the truth be told, wondering what the hell the racket was outside….til somebody mentioned the racing had started…

The day sped by as fast as the cars…the drinks went down quicker than……The Titanic (saved by a thought!)

At the end of the day we all rolled into town to our local haunt, well oiled and dressed to the nines, including, of course, the Jordans promotional caps I mentioned at the beginning of the story…

A girl I had had my eye on for some time paid me a lot of attention that night and I am happy to say that the day ended as enjoyably as it had been started. It was only weeks later that she told me the truth….”it was the cap that did it” she said ” the promotional cap”" That night I saw you in a completely different light”

The moral of this tale…if there is one is, when it comes to promotional products, their reps, or other female admirers, always make sure that you - or one of you at least, is wearing the cap!
