“Winding My Way Down to Grubstreet” A Journalists Version of a Gerry Rafferty Classic

Grubstreet, for the uninitiated was the place in old London where writers and poets would congregate to share their art…and a few pints I wouldn’t wonder. Many years later they would move their watering holes to Fleet Street and judging the progress of their modern day counterparts, they should have taken the name, Grubstreet with them.

But now the name is reborn in a refreshingly new website Grubstreet.ca

What you need to know about Grubstreet is that its ideals are pure and its focus refreshing. Be the Ideal Journalist yourself and submit your prose to the site….They promise to pay you in Peanut Butter…..if your good.

A haven for purists you might think, but you would be wrong. The site is as hip and funky as….(well.. not being hip and funky anymore leads me to thoughts of Huggy Bear on Starsky & Hutch….thats Antonio Fargas in the original series I am talking about for those reading this too young to be able to imagine anything with Ben Stiller in it being hip & funky)

And how a website got its groove……well, best I let you writers and poets and hip, funky folk, discover that for yourselves.
