The ongoing dispute between the bar and restaurant owners, the local council and the Valencian Regional government over who holds responsibility for maintaining the arenal promenade in Javea continues to draw headlines like a good 'ol British farce.

In the meantime, Javea does its own reputation no good.

Maybe instead of worrying about whose responsibilty the maintenance is, some-one should just get it done..what does it take for the bars and restaurant owners to get together and pay an electrician to tidy the boxes, the local council to get the rubbish cleared up and as for the Valencian government....leave em in Valencia. if they couldn't work out that LRAU or LUV as its now called....the land grab laws...were totally screwed up....what chance do you have with this! I did hear they proposed some kind of compulsory purchase of the land....they seem to have that one on the brain.

Anyway, after all that, Javea is still a great holiday destination, so come and enjoy!
