An accusation of sexual harassment by his deputy has caused the Partido Popular to take steps to expel the Mayor of Sierra de Yeguas from the party.

The PP deputy mayor had kept records of conversations with her senior colleague and passed them on to the provincial PP management .

The PP provincial president of Malaga  listened to the recordings and after consultation with other PP representitives his first reaction was to ask for a resignation as mayor and also from the administration.

He said that the content of the recordings was delicate and unpleasant and the final outcome would be decided by a tribunal.

The PP has announced that it has started procedures to expel the mayor from the party.
